2017 · Acrylic and Palette Knife on Canvas
In this series, the artist explores the concept of The Observed. By magnifying the eye to an abstract scale, the boundary between the person and the painting disappears. The horizontal "noise" layered over the iris represents the filters through which we see the world: technology, emotion, and time, reminding us that even a single glance is a complex, multi-layered experience.
"Cerulean Insight" is a mesmerising exploration of the human soul through the most intimate of subjects: the eye. This bold, macro-perspective piece utilises a vibrant palette of electric blue and stark white against deep, ink-like shadows to create a high-contrast "glitch" aesthetic. The artist deconstructs the anatomy of a gaze into rhythmic, horizontal fragments, mimicking the flicker of a digital screen or a fleeting memory. It is a hauntingly beautiful statement piece that demands attention and invites the viewer to wonder, " Who is watching whom?
